Craig Stranger to become Executive Chairman as firm enters next phase of growth

PAC Partners has announced the appointment of Ryan Bessemer as Chief Executive Officer, with Craig Stranger moving to the role of Executive Chairman.

The changes mark PAC Partners’ next phase of growth. Building on an established position across corporate finance, stockbroking and research, the firm will sharpen focus on its core business lines, strengthen its operating model and deepen client and market relationships to position for more scalable and durable growth.

Bessemer brings extensive experience across financial services, wealth, funds administration, capital markets and business transformation. He was most recently CEO of Trustees Executors, in New Zealand, and previously held COO and senior executive roles at Equity Trustees (ASX: EQT) and Austock Group (now Generation Development Group, ASX: GDG). Across these roles he has worked with boards, leadership teams and financial services businesses through periods of growth, change and strategic repositioning, with a focus on building scalable and sustainable operating models.

Stranger said Bessemer’s appointment was an important step in PAC Partners’ continued development.

“PAC Partners has strong foundations, a highly capable team and valuable client relationships across the market,” Stranger said.

“The opportunity now is to build on those foundations and position the business for its next stage of growth. Ryan brings the commercial experience, operating discipline and strategic focus to help us do that.”

As Executive Chairman, Stranger will remain actively involved in the business, with a focus on key client and market relationships, and helping guide the firm through its next stage of development.

Bessemer said PAC Partners was well positioned to build on its established market position.

“PAC Partners has a strong brand, deep market relationships and genuine capability across corporate finance, stockbroking and research,” Bessemer said.

“The opportunity is to deliver those capabilities with greater focus and consistency for clients, growth companies, investors and partners across the market.”

Ryan and his father, Bill Bessemer, a long-standing figure in Australian capital markets, have also become shareholders, reflecting the Bessemer family’s conviction in PAC’s future and alignment with its next phase of growth.

Stranger said the changes were designed to support clients and partners as much as the firm itself.

“This is about building a stronger PAC Partners for our clients, our people and our partners,” Stranger said.

“We want to continue improving how we originate opportunities, connect capital, support growth companies and build long-term relationships across the market.”
